Distance: 1410 miles/2256 km
Day 1 Los Angeles – Ridgecrest (167 miles / 267 km)
Leave Los Angeles and head for the San Gabriel Maintains which will immediately ensure superb challenging curves in a magnificent setting. Then cross the High Desert and set course for Ridgecrest, today’s final destination!
Day 2 Ridgecrest – Sequoia National Park (204 miles / 326 km)
After breakfast head for Lake Isabella and follow the Kern River upstream in the direction of Sequoia National Forest. Sequoia National Park is mostly known for its gargantuan Sequoia trees. These ancient tries can reach heights of up to 150 meters. The awesome panoramas in combination with sublime challenging curves will guarantee the experience of a lifetime.
Day 3 Sequoia National Park - Oakhurst (202 miles / 323 km)
In the morning spend plenty of time to enjoy Kings Canyon. Through Pine Flat Lake and Millerton Lake push on to Oakhurst, near the entrance of Yosemite National Park.
Day 4 Oakhurst - Sonora (180 miles / 288 km)
Today is entirely dominated by Yosemite National Park, one of the most famous parks of the USA. The breathtaking views, fascinating rocks and numerous waterfalls will guarantee an unforgettable day. Stay in the historic tow of Sonora, in the middle of the famous gold rush country.
Day 5 Sonora – San Francisco (190 miles / 304 km)
Via highway 49 and the vast agricultural and fruit culture areas, arrive at the wine area of Napa Valley. Naturally you should enter San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge. Try to stay for a minimum of 2 days in this great city.
Day 6 San Francisco (0 miles)
The entire day to spend discovering San Francisco. See Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, China town, Union Square and don’t forget to ride the Cable Car. “Frisco” is a sparkling and interesting city with plenty of things on offer.
Day 7 San Francisco – San Simeon (208 miles / 333 km)
From San Francisco take spectacular roads to the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Through Monterey, known for Cannery Row, head on via the famous Pacific Coast Highway 1. Through places like Big Sur, Ragged Point and Point Lobos reach today’s final destination: San Simeon.
Day 8 San Simeon - Arcadia – Santa Monica (259 miles / 415 km)
Leave the coast and follow the route inland for your final ride to Los Angels. Cross the Sierra Madre Mountains and reach Frazier Park through Cuyama and Ventucopa. Try a hotel in the centre of Santa Monica, the large number of restaurants, shops and bars in the lively Third Street Promenade will guarantee a fitting closure to this tour.
