Ride the Four Corners !

American Motorcycle Tours
a Self or Guided Motorcycle Tour

On the crossroads of the four states of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico & Colorado find a sign that reads “Four Corners”. At first sight this would seem to be a dry and insignificant remark. The public servant erecting this sign was apparently unaware of the fact that he was surrounded by four beautiful states.

Four Corners Tour Description

Riding Days: 13
Distance: 2405 miles/3848 km

Day 1 Las Vegas – Williams (233 miles / 373 km)
Leave Las Vegas via the Hooverdam which is followed by a hot patch of desert landscape. At Kingman follow the “Mother Road”, Route 66, right across the Hualapai Indian Reservation. Frequent the visitor centre and park your bike in Williams for the night, right on route 66.

Day 2 Williams – Gray Mountain (125 miles / 200 km)
Get ready to explore one of the most famous wonders of the world: the Grand Canyon. You can make several stops along the south rim. Be sure to visit the Imax Theatre, featuring a spectacular film about this natural wonder. Also try a cool helicopter flight over the canyon, a real must. The final destination for today is Gray Mountain.

Day 3 Gray Mountain - Chinle (210 miles / 336 km)
Today is entirely in the sign of Indian reservations. You be passing them all day. See the fantastic and extremely vast landscape that belong to the Navajo and Hopi Indians. Don’t forget to visit the magnificent “Canyon de Chelley” which will definitely be one of the high points of your tour. Your home for the night should be Chinle.

Day 4 Chinle - Cortez (215 miles / 344 km)
Monument Valley provides, without a doubt, one of the most fantastic and impressive motorcycle riding settings in the United States. Make a jeep safari with an Indian guide for a realistic experience of the back country. Through Mexican Hat, and naturally the Four Corner Memorial, arrive in Cortez in the late afternoon.

Day 5 Cortez - Montrose – (154 miles / 246 km)
Start the day early with a visit of the Mesa Verde National Park, where local Indians have built impressive rock houses. Later on, the San Juan National Forest will ensure exiting curves. Be sure to stop in historic Silverton before arriving at today’s final destination, Montrose.

Day 6 Montrose - Breckenridge (204 miles / 326 km)
The scenic nature of Colorado will host your ride today. After a visit of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, ride towards the Rocky Mountains. Breckenridge, today’s final destination, has become quite a trendy resort, a visit is definitely worthwhile.

Day 7 Breckenridge – Grand Lake (170 miles / 272 km)
In the morning ride through the town of Nederland and Estes Park into Rocky Mountains National Park. You’ll be impressed by dazzling ravines and splendid panoramas. Be aware of the dear and moose that may cross your path.

Day 8 Grand Lake (0 miles)
By now, you’ll have traveled quite a distance so enjoy a well earned day of rest at Grand Lake. The surrounding area is extremely suitable for a little adventure exploration. How about a horse ride followed by a barbecue in the splendid mountains surrounding Grand Lake?

Day 9 Grand Lake – Grand Junction (297 miles – 475 km)
Get up early, since you’ll have a large distance to cover. The scenic route along Hot Sulphur Springs and Gore Pass will bring you to the I-40. This is probably the most magnificent piece of American highway you can ride. It will take you through Glenwood Canyon.

Day 10 Grand Junction – Blanding (198 miles / 317 km)
Leave Colorado to head for the pride of Utah: Arches National Park. The splendid nature in this exquisite and impressive National Park will certainly surprise you. Try spending a night in Blanding.

Day 11 Blanding – Escalante (242 miles / 388 km)

Day 12 Escalante - Panguitch (102 miles / 163 km)
Today there is plenty of time. Bryce Canyon is perhaps less well known, but possibly even more beautiful than the Grand Canyon. Here too, words will fall short to describe the splendor of this National Park. You’ll have the possibility to go hiking, horseback riding or take a helicopter ride. Your best bet is staying just outside the park in Panguitch.

Day 13 Panguitch – Las Vegas (255 miles / 408 km)
The main attraction of the day is Zion National Park. Splendid rock formations, colourful overgrowth and also some exhilarating curves during the ride. At the town of Washington take the I-15 for the last miles to Las Vegas. Which city could be more appropriate to end this tour than the Entertainment Capitol of the World?
